From Tessa Scott, Chairman of the Hospice Trustees:

Over the past six months, the Trustees and senior management team have been reviewing the Hospice’s governance and management needs for the next phase of our development. At the same time, it has become increasingly clear to our Chief Executive, Janet Doyle, that she needs to return to the South East, the better to support elderly relatives. Accordingly, following more than four years of rapid change and development under her leadership, during which the Hospice has positioned itself for a major expansion of service and new build, it has been agreed that it is time for Janet to move on and a new Chief Executive to be appointed. Janet will be leaving at the end of March 2010. She leaves with our grateful thanks for all she has achieved and we wish her well for the future.

Janet Doyle said:

“I have supported The Norfolk Hospice for many years, in one capacity or another. I am delighted to have been able to play a part in creating the foundations, plans and profile which can carry the Hospice forward to meet the extensive unmet palliative care needs of Norfolk and The Fens. I shall miss the patients, staff and volunteers. I am grateful to all those who have supported me unstintingly in my role for over four years”.
