Bereavement Support

We will all experience bereavement at some time.  It can be a devastating experience that affects every area of life in the days, months and years following the death of someone we love.

For some, the care and understanding of family and friends is sufficient to help them cope with their grief. Others find it helpful to talk with someone from outside the family circle who also understands bereavement.

We are able to provide some individual support to bereaved people and we plan to develop this service further in the coming year.

We also run support groups at intervals during the year. These can help bereaved people with practical advice and information as well as emotional support and an opportunity to meet with other people who have experienced the death of a loved one.

The Hospice carries a range of information including leaflets, books and videos about different aspects of grief including how to talk to and support children and teenagers and adjusting to living alone.

Through our website you can set up a page in memory of someone who has died or remember them at Christmas through our Light Up a Life Services.
