Day therapy is one of the central services we offer to people with cancer and other life-limiting conditions. Staffed by caring and experienced professionals and trained volunteers, the hospice provides a warm, welcoming environment in which patients can access a range of therapies and clinical procedures as well as a growing number of complementary therapies.

We have a team of registered nurses, a health care assistant, a family support social worker, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist and an experienced cook. We also have trained and qualified volunteers providing podiatry, massage, reiki, and shiatsu, reflexology and aromatherapy. We have a fully-equipped hairdressing salon where trained hairdressers and beauty therapists can pamper patients, and for those with physical limitations making bathing difficult, we have a specially adapted bathroom.

As part of the holistic approach, we focus on the needs of the individual whether they are physical, emotional, social or spiritual. Talks and demonstrations by interesting speakers, gentle exercise, and the chance to get involved in various arts, crafts and cultural activities are all part of the Norfolk Hospice experience. And there is always plenty of time to just sit and chat.

The Norfolk Hospice works closely with local GPs, health and social services, and our Macmillan Clinical and Educational Director meets regularly with the Palliative Care Team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Most patients are referred to the Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House, by the doctor, nurse or social worker. However, patients, their families and their friends are always welcome to contact us directly.
