New Hospice

Artist Impression of the New Hospice

The desire to provide Norfolk with the level of hospice care it requires has always been central to the mission of our Hospice. A crucial part of this aspiration is to develop a purpose-built Hospice for adults living in Norfolk and the Fens, something which is not available in the County outside the Norwich catchment area.

Our community is one of the most deprived in the U.K., and is considered to be the largest area that does not have a full service Hospice.

The people of Norfolk and the Fens urgently need and truly deserve the very highest standard of Hospice care for everyone who requires it.

Example as to how a patient bedroom may lookOur vision is of a full service purpose-built Hospice - to include in-patient beds - on a new site, in a more central location, to serve North and West Norfolk and the part of the Fens we cover.  This project will only come to fruition with the support of our benefactors and the communities we serve.

As the range of services we offer increase, so does the amount of money we require to continue supporting those living with a life-limiting illness.

We have established a Capital Campaign to raise funds for the New Hospice which involves appeals in Norwich and London. We have acquired land in Hillington, east of King’s Lynn and outline planning permission has been approved.  We are committed to consulting with the local community about our plans and believe that the New Hospice will bring many additional benefits to the village and surrounding area.

How you can help.

We are facing a unique opportunity.  We appreciate that there are many calls upon people's generosity - but there are few opportunities to make a difference of this importance to your own community.

There are many ways that you can join us and help our community to meet this important challenge.

  • make a special, capital donation (gifts can be "pledged" over 3-5 years).
  • make a special, tax effective gift of shares or property.
  • make a special gift in your Will.
  • make a regular, monthly donation by direct debit.
  • introduce us to an individual, family, grant-making trust or community organisation who might be able to help us with a special, capital gift.
  • make The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House, your company's Charity of the Year - or the beneficiary of one of your annual charity events.
  • commit yourself to organising a special fundraising event for us to get your village, town or community involved in this special campaign.
  • help us to identify other volunteer champions and networks in our catchment area towns and villages.
  • join our growing network of friends and fundraising champions.
However you would like to support us, we would like to hear from you.
