Art in the Hut is a unique creative initiative to raise funds for The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House.  The exhibition is being held in the Mencap beach hut (no. 82) on Old Hunstanton Beach over the weekend of 29-30 July from 10am until 5pm each day.

Amateur and professional artists were invited to create and donate a postcard sized piece of original art for the event. Over the past five months, entries have come flooding in from generous artists across Norfolk and further afield.  Artists have used all sorts of painterly styles and the images on offer are as varied as any gallery’s and will include wildlife, nature, seascapes, abstract interpretations, as well as the occasional eclectic surprise. There have also been sessions taking place in local libraries where supporters can create their own postcard.

All artwork will be on sale over the weekend, with a minimum suggested donation of £5. Each postcard is a true one-off collector’s item. The artists' identity is only revealed once the postcard is purchased, so it could be an emerging new talent or a well-known local artist.

Not only do you get to enjoy this unique event and support a local charity - you could also go home with an amazing piece of artwork that is more valuable than you first thought!

Jessica Walker, Community Fundraiser at The Norfolk Hospice said,

We are extremely grateful to the supporters organising this event for us and all of the artists who have donated their artwork. It is unique and exciting event not to be missed. Events like this really make a difference to the amount and quality of support we can provide to the local community.
