Latest News News Celebrating 35 years of outstanding compassionate care We have officially launched our Celebrate 35 campaign to commemorate our 35th birthday – and everybody is invited! Plans to throw a big party this year have been postponed until Spring 2021 at the earliest, but the campaign is another way for people to get involved and celebrate our birthday in the meantime. Lyndsay Carter, Chief Executive at The Norfolk Hospice, said: “I am so proud to work at The Norfolk Hospice with such a fantastic team. We all take enormous pride in the fact that we are able to provide specialist support to more and more families every year. “During the last 35 years the Hospice has gone from seeing 100 patients a year to over 1300 a year. We invite you to celebrate our success and we hope that in the next 35 years we can reach out to thousands more.” Pictured: IPU Consultant Nurse Sue Barham (L) with CEO Lyndsay Carter (R) You can get involved with the birthday celebrations by donating to our Celebrate 35 appeal at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tappingbday or by taking part in the 35 Challenge. For the 35 Challenge we are asking for people to ‘Choose Your Challenge, Your Way’ throughout the month of August. For more information see our 35 Challenge page here. This campaign follows our coronavirus bed appeal which raised over £40,000 back in June. The appeal funded the opening of five additional palliative care beds for three months at the height of the pandemic. The Norfolk Hospice is a registered charity celebrating 35 years of providing free care, comfort and compassion to residents in North and West Norfolk nearing the end of their lives and providing support for their families and friends. The Norfolk Hospice was born from Hospice Home Care first launched by Dr Hugh Ford 35 years ago, before moving to a small base in Snettisham in 1989. The Hospice in Hillington was officially opened in 2016 and the Inpatient Unit opened one year later in 2017.
