What's happening News Golfers tee off for Hospice. On Friday 13th July 22 teams of golfers, played the award-winning 18 hole course at King’s Lynn Golf Club and helped raise over £9,200 for The Norfolk Hospice. The teams included local businesses, Hospice supporters and individual golfers who were keen for a fun competition. On completion of the game, golfers enjoyed a two-course meal in the Clubhouse and were able to bid on some fantastic prizes in a live auction. Some of the auction lots included were a tour of Parliament with Sir Henry Bellingham MP, dinner, bed and breakfast at Titchwell Manor, 24-hour loan of a Tesla Model S car and a Fortnum & Mason wine hamper. Afterwards, there was also a raffle draw and prize giving presentation. A longest drive and nearest the pin competition took place as well. The winning team of the day scored an impressive 92 and were awarded with £200 cash and four bottles of prosecco. David Goddard, captain of the team said, We had a fantastic day and are more than happy to give our winnings back to the Hospice – it is such a worthwhile cause. Runners up included ‘Team Dodman’ and the ‘Lancaster Bombers.’ Alice Crome, Fundraising Coordinator at The Norfolk Hospice said The Golf Day is one of the biggest events in our fundraising calendar. I would like to thank all of the teams that participated and the companies and individuals who donated prizes or advertised in our programme. Also special thanks to the wonderful volunteers who gave their time to help, Adrian Flux who were the main event sponsor and to Jeff Hazel who kindly auctioneered for us. We couldn’t have done it without everyone’s generous support. This is the ninth annual Golf Day organised by The Norfolk Hospice and they hope the event will continue to thrive. 2019’s Golf Day will once again be held at King’s Lynn Golf Club and will take place on Friday 12th July.
