What's happening News Lanterns to Light up King’s Lynn On Friday 8th June, The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House are holding their very first Lantern Walk which will provide people with an opportunity to come together to walk in memory of a loved one. The 3km walk, which will be held at The Walks, Kings Lynn starts at dusk (8.30pm). As the sun sets Walkers will be able to carry a lantern to light the way along the route in celebration of the life of the person or people they are remembering. The event, which has been organised in conjunction with Kings Lynn Borough Council has kindly been sponsored by SFK Cooper, long-standing supporters of the Hospice. As well as the lantern-lit walk, participants will be entertained by ‘Simply Sing’ – King’s Lynn Community Choir whilst Ben Norris, daytime presenter from KLFM will be comparing the event. Louise Clark, Bereavement Coordinator at the Hospice said, The Lantern Walk will be a moving and poignant celebration of life and offers the chance to reflect on those we love, but are no longer with us. Sometimes having a special opportunity to reflect and celebrate the life of someone special to us in a supportive environment can be helpful to us. Anyone wishing to take part will need to register via the Hospice website – www.norfolkhospice.org.uk and the cost to take part is £12 for adults and £5 for children. There will also be an opportunity to purchase a branded Lantern Walk t-shirt to wear on the evening. Spectators are more than welcome to attend the event to view the display of Lanterns and cheer the walkers on.
