The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House has launched a new campaign encouraging supporters to ‘Tick Yes’ for their local hospice.

The ‘Tick Yes’ campaign has been launched in preparation for the wide-reaching changes to data protection legislation which will come into force later this month.

The Norfolk Hospice’s Chief Executive, Lyndsay Carter, explains:

You may have heard in the news about the changes that are happening in data protection law this year. The General Data Protection Regulations are affecting a large number of organisations in the country and are having a huge impact on the charity sector – including The Norfolk Hospice. This is a substantial change in the law that will affect all areas of our work.

 The law requires us to ensure that the personal data we hold about our supporters is up to date and accurate. Having the correct information also means that we don’t waste valuable money and time sending communications to the wrong people or places.

The Hospice also understands that receiving unsolicited post, emails and calls is annoying so it is important that they know how their supporters want to be communicated with – whether that be via email, post, or phone. 

A simple tick for The Norfolk Hospice means that they can continue to keep their supporters updated about the difference the Hospice makes to local families and inform them about the many new and exciting ways that they can help support the hospice. Things like how to take part in one of the Hospices many local events like the Golf Day, remember their loved ones by making a dedication to the Light up a Life appeal, joining up to play the weekly Lottery, or hearing about how support makes a difference through their monthly newsletter.
