Latest News News Welcoming new Nursing staff We are currently undergoing an exciting period of growth at The Norfolk Hospice, including welcoming new starters. Joining our fantastic Nursing Team are Alex, Helen and Anna. Alex, Ward Manager, (pictured above) said: "I have been nursing for 18 years and I have worked in various roles within primary and secondary care, however have a great passion for palliative care.I am really excited to be embarking on my new job role as Ward Manager working along side a fantastic hardworking, caring and compassionate team here at The Norfolk Hospice." Helen, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, said: “I have been a trained nurse for over 20 years and have worked mainly in community settings during that time – as a District Nurse and Macmillan Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist. Most recently I have worked as a Community Nurse Practitioner for a large GP practice in Wisbech, seeing patients in their own homes and care homes, with a focus on end of life care patients as well as seeing those patients suffering from a whole manner of acute illnesses, exacerbations of long term conditions, frailty, and mental health issues.I am very happy to be working for the Hospice and am looking forward to working in the IPU and being able to spend time focussing on palliative care patients and their families, to ensure that they have the time and support that they need.” Anna, a Registered Nurse, said: "Since qualifying 4 years ago, I have had the opportunity to work in both Surgery and Medicine at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, developing and growing as a nurse. But I have always had an interest and passion for palliative and end of life care.I am really excited to start this new chapter in my career, to work with everyone here at The Norfolk Hospice in providing excellent holistic care."
