Our eBay store was set up in 2018 and since then has sold a variety of fascinating and valuable items. So we asked three of our eBay volunteers about what they actually do when they volunteer, and why they like it.

Pat first.....

I wanted to put something back into society and I wanted to make a difference. Principally I sell donated items on eBay - this involves researching items and their value, taking well-presented photographs and then listing these items online. I really enjoy meeting and chatting with the lovely team and, of course, helping to support the hospice to raise vital funds.

Chiara remembers one particular find.....

We were given a book about Tabley House, a Palladian estate in Cheshire, which we believed dated back to the time of Sir John Fleming Leicester - about 200 years ago. Normally, we'd immediately put this book for sale on eBay in auction format. But before doing this, we thought it appropriate to let the Collection Manager at Tabley House know, just in case they were interested in acquiring the drawing book. They were, and they paid a good price!

And Rob.....

I used to be an industrial electrician - now I have time to spare and want to use it. It's a rewarding way to spend time, like a treasure hunt finding wow items that surprise you. Two silver items sold for £280.
