How we can help Family and carer support Carer support groups Carer support groups run on Thursday afternoons between 2pm and 4pm. The first Thursday of each month is for people who are supporting people with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) or Huntington’s disease. The second Thursday of each month hosts the support group for dementia carers. These groups offer the opportunity for carers to attend the Hospice and share time with other people in similar situations, whilst gaining the support from the wider Hospice team and the Hospice volunteers. The groups consist of recreational activities, education around the different illnesses and complementary therapy to ensure each carer's wellbeing is also supported. If you'd like further information about these groups, or require information and support on how to access the groups - including support for the person with the illness, contact us on 01485 601700 and ask to speak to a member of the Family and Carer Support Team.
