Join best-selling thriller author and former Director General of MI5 Dame Stella Rimington for afternoon tea at Swaffham Assembly Rooms in aid of The Norfolk Hospice.

Stella will be talking about her fascinating experience working for MI5 and also discussing her highly successful books, including her autobiography and her nine mystery novels, known as the Liz Carlyle series. 

There will be an opportunity to have books signed by Stella at the event. 

Included is an afternoon tea which will be provided during the event. 

All profits raised from the event will benefit The Norfolk Hospice. 

Stella Rimington joined Britain’s Security Service (MI5) in 1969. During her 27-year career she worked in all the main fields of the Service’s responsibilities—counter subversion, counter espionage and counterterrorism—and became Director of all three branches. Appointed Director General of MI5 in 1992, she was the first woman to hold the post and the first Director General whose name was publicly announced on appointment. Following her retirement from MI5 in 1996, she became a nonexecutive director of Marks & Spencer and published her autobiography, Open Secret, in the United Kingdom. She is also the author of the novels: At Risk, Secret Asset, and Illegal Action
