The Hospice hosted its first ever Car Show & Family Fun Day on Sunday (2nd September) at The Royal Sandringham Estate.  It was a brilliant day which was well attended with over 3000 attendees and raised nearly £10,000.

There were lots of attractions including Grays funfair rides, miniature donkeys, over fifty craft stalls selling everything from jewellery to Gin, food stalls, a bar and live entertainment.

Over 120 car enthusiasts arrived on the day to display their cars. There was a wide range of cars on display from a 1965 VW camper van to a Ford Falcon. We also had some car clubs attend on the day and we are grateful for their support. The Mayor of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk judged the car show competition which was sponsored by Adrian Flux. Winner of Best in Show was a Yellow Opel Manta and the Mayors Choice Ford Capri 1600 Laser.

Jessica Walker, Community Fundraiser at the Hospice said,

We would like to thank everyone who attended our first car show and family fun day. We had a great day and are overwhelmed by the support of the local community. The money raised from this event will go towards helping us to continue to provide the care and support to people (and their families) in the local community living with life-shortening illnesses. I would like to say a massive thank you to our sponsors, everyone who displayed their car, brought along their stall, volunteered and performed at the event and KLFM. It was such a successful event and we couldn’t have done it without you! We look forward to seeing you all next year.

The fundraising team at the Hospice are already busy planning next year’s event.
