Fundraising event volunteer See Event Dates Here

Support the Community Fundraising and Events Team and have some great days out at our events. Looking ahead, we're particularly looking for people to help at the Fakenham Christmas Tree Festival

These are some of the things you could be doing at events:

  1. Administration and registration at events
  2. Helping set up equipment
  3. Putting up/taking down of mini marquees
  4. Car park and road marshalling
  5. Serving refreshments
  6. Running stalls, like a Tombola stall, selling raffle tickets or handing out leaflets

Bucket collections

We regularly collect at local supermarkets and in town centres. Bucket collections tend to take place between 9am and 5pm but you'd only need to give an hour or two and you don't usually need to fill out a full volunteer application form to do this.

Call 01485 601701 to find out what dates, times and locations are available.

Ambassador/Public Speaker

As an Ambassador, you'll attend supporter fundraising and awareness events as a public speaker, representing the Hospice - usually through leads you've generated yourself. Events could be anything from gig nights, to dinner parties or a charity football match. You'll be speaking on a variety of topics including updates on services and the care offered to patients, their families and carers - and publicising our Events Dates. Typically these events are held at weekends, and occasionally in the evenings, across West and North Norfolk.
You'll be provided with training to ensure that you have a good knowledge of the Hospice and have all the information and presentation materials you need when collecting any cheques, saying 'thank you' and promoting our local cause.

This role will suit you if you:

  • are enthusiastic about our services and cheerful with a positive attitude
  • are reliable and trustworthy
  • are a confident public speaker
  • have your own transport and a good knowledge of the local area
  • are good with people and enjoy interacting with the public

If you like the sound of this read Celia's story - she's one of our volunteers.

Collection box coordinator

Collection boxes bring in thousands of pounds for us every single year. If you like getting out and about, meeting people and building relationships, this is the role for you!

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to distribute static collection boxes to shops and businesses in your own local area, making sure the boxes are replaced when full and returning full boxes for banking.

You'll like this if you're a friendly, outgoing person who's happy to talk to people about the Hospice, but with no need for a hard sell.

We particularly need volunteers to cover Fakenham, Dereham, Wells-next-the-sea, Holt and King's Lynn.

Whichever fundraising role you choose, you'll get some training so that you have a good overview knowledge of the Hospice - and you'll be given anything else that's needed for the particular role you're doing.

If you volunteer on a one-off basis for an event you usually don't need to fill in a full application form - but if you'd like to be part of our regular team of volunteers you can Apply Online

If you are interested in organising your own events our Organise an event page has full details of support available.
