Ambassador/Public Speaker

As an Ambassador, you'll attend supporter fundraising and awareness events as a public speaker, representing The Norfolk Hospice - usually through leads you've generated yourself. Events could be anything from gig nights, to dinner parties or a charity football match. You'll be speaking on a variety of topics including updates on services and the care offered to patients, their families and carers - and publicising our Fundraising Events calendar. Typically these events are held at weekends, and occasionally in the evenings, across West and North Norfolk.
You'll be provided with training to ensure that you have a good knowledge of the Hospice and have all the information and presentation materials that you need when collecting any cheques, saying 'thank you' and promoting our local cause.

This role will suit you if you:

  • are enthusiastic about our services and cheerful with a positive attitude
  • are reliable and trustworthy
  • are a confident public speaker
  • have your own transport and a good knowledge of the local area
  • are good with people and enjoy interacting with the public

Collection box coordinator

Collection boxes bring in thousands of pounds for us every single year. If you like getting out and about, meeting people and building relationships, this is the role for you!

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to distribute static collection boxes to shops and businesses in your own local area, making sure the boxes are replaced when full and taking the full boxes to our office at Hillington or to your nearest Norfolk Hospice Charity shop for banking.

You will be a friendly, outgoing person who is happy to talk to people about the Hospice but with no hard sell.

We particularly need volunteers to cover Fakenham, Dereham, Wells-next-the-sea, Holt and King's Lynn.

You will be provided with training to ensure that you have a good overview knowledge of the Hospice and anything else that is specific to the elements of the role that you would like to be involved with.

If you are interested in organising your own events our Organise an event page has full details of support available.
