In Memory

Gerald Bell

16 Oct 1938 - 13 Aug 2020

Gerald was born and brought up in Sheffield. A 30+ year career in banking (briefly interrupted by 2yrs National Service in the RAF) saw him travel extensively around the UK. He settled with his family in Norfolk in the 1970s and ended his days in Dersingham. Throughout his life his faith was very important to him. His other passions included church bell ringing, travellling and sharing his love of words through his poetry. He was a quiet, gentle man with a quick wit and a generous heart. He will be sorely missed by his wife Helen, his two sons, Matthew and James, their partners Melanie and Keely, his two grandchildren, Nicole and Alex and all who were fortunate to have known him. He gave generously in time and support to many local and international charities and organisations, and we hope this page provides an opportunity for those that knew him to help support the wonderful team at the Tapping House hospice who cared for him in his final days.
