Dying Matters Awareness Week 2024 The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House is proud to support Dying Matters Awareness Week which takes place 6th - 12th May 2024. Dying Matters is a campaign run by the charity Hospice UK in collaboration with all hospices in the UK, working to create an open culture where we are comfortable talking about death, dying and grief. This year's theme 'The way we talk about dying matters' focuses on the language that we use and the conversations we have around death and dying. We believe when we are able to face death openly and positively as a natural part of life, we will be empowered to live our days to the fullest. Talking about death and dying is the first step towards this. Having an honest, timely conversation about death and dying is essential however often barriers such as lack of confidence, taboos around discussing death or fear of saying the wrong thing stops us. Where to start? To help start the conversation The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House has several free to attend events planned during Dying Matters Awareness Week. Thursday 2nd May 9am - 3pm - 'Never Too Young To Start Talking' The Forum, Millennium Plain, Norwich. Public marketplace with expert speakers from 9am - 12pm.
