Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Freddie Wilson, MBE

03 Jan 1938 - 30 May 2018

Freddie was a very loving, caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather; a stalwart within the Regiment (1st The Queens Dragoon Guards) and later as Regional Director at the Leonard Cheshire Foundation where he also left his mark. He was a true gentleman with an abundance of energy and passion for adventure, life and friends, always creating space for conversation and fun. Together with his wife, Carrie, he was one half of a formidable team that had been together for over 60 years and were expected to ‘grow old together’. Freddie’s rapid decline in health and his passing so soon after the diagnosis of his illness was an unexpected shock for all who knew him, but his dreadful journey was eased in his last weeks by the outstanding quality of care and support given to him and the family by the local palliative care team and the staff at Tapping House. Our heartfelt thanks in advance for all donations, however small, which we know will be hugely appreciated and will help this wonderful hospice to develop its facilities and continue to support others when it is most needed. Thank you.
