Even through these unprecedented times at The Norfolk Hospice we continue to grow and develop new services. We are delighted to announce we have been given a contribution towards running a Rapid Response Service through the night time hours of 10pm and 6am.

The service aims to support any patient and family known to our palliative care service who has an urgent and unexpected care or nursing need during the night. This can be a difficult time for family members and patients who are trying to manage in their own homes and can often result in a call to 999 and an unwanted journey to A&E.

The Rapid Response team are on hand to take calls and give advice to patients known to the Hospice. Due to the surge in Covid-19 cases we are currently only offering advice, but when cases drop we will also be able to deploy an experienced registered nurse and palliative nursing assistant to support and manage the situation.

This new service will be trialled for a twelve month period, but we hope that it will be successful and that we can continue to run it well into the future. Which is where we need your help.

As always, your support means the world to us. It is thanks to people like you that we can continue developing our services to help those who require end of life care, wherever they are.
